PRP Tour - January 2015

December 2014

Hi all - well... here's a news update I was never expecting to write!

Rewind 50The last month has been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least. I was asked by Paul Raymond of UFO fame to put a couple of solos on his forthcoming album Rewind 50, which will be available mid December. I have ended up doing solos for five of the songs on the album. This is beyond my wildest dreams! It's been a very tight deadline but I can't wait to hear the finished results!

On top of that, Paul is taking to the road with The Paul Raymond Project in January for a few shows to promote the album and play some songs from his illustrious 50 years in the music business just before he heads out on the road with UFO in February, and I've been asked to join the band for this tour. I'm privileged to be part of this line-up which alongside Paul features Andy Dodds on vocals, and a powerhouse rhythm section in Tony Steel on drums and Mark Coles on bass, these guys are just awesome!
The dates are:

8th January - The Fleece - Bristol
9th January - The Borderline - London
16th January - The Vine Bar - Workington
17th January - The Venue - Selby
23rd January - The Cluny - Newcastle (venue change)
24th January - Asylum 2 - Birmingham

14th October 2014

Hi all - just a quick update for October. Well, I've been fortunate enough to guest at two gigs since the ones with Slagbank and Paul Raymond in April. Both were over in Workington and both were with my friends in Slagbank (Mark Coles, Buzz Elliott and Tony Steel). The first was on 6th June with Andy Dodds guesting on vocals, and the second was on 23rd August supporting Rock Bottom UK. Both were superb nights, enjoyed by all in attendance. The people of Workington have been extremely good to me over the last year and I've gained many new friends in the process!

I've written 27 songs since April which are under consideration at the moment, but once I know the outcome I should be able to let you know more. I'm also working on a couple of videos at the moment and aiming to upload them in the near future.

I hope you've all had a superb summer and have lots to look forward to. I'm also hoping to be able to give you some great news fairly soon so don't forget to check back regularly! Thanks for the continued support, it means a lot to me. Keep on Rockin'

Dave

27th April 2014

Hi all,

Sorry for taking so long to update the site. The last three months I've been very busy writing new material and rehearsing some of my favourite songs by a certain UFO.
A few months ago I was invited to guest at one of Slagbank's gigs over in Workington, Cumbria.

The guys, Buzz, Mark and Tony put together an Easter show with lots of guests at the Vine Bar, these comprised of: AWOL, 13 Stars, Andy Dodds, Dave Burn, Mike Dodd, Kieran Skully Bell & Paul Raymond.

Paul Raymond, Andy Dodds and myself would join Slagbank to do a set of UFO classics. We met up at 2pm and started the soundcheck at 3.15, We went through the set once then agreed to meet up around 8pm as Slagbank were starting their set at 8.30 and we would hit the stage at 9pm.

This is the set we played: Natural Thing, Out In The Street, Only You Can Rock Me, Try Me, Rock Bottom, Lights Out, Just Another Suicide, Love to Love, Shoot Shoot and Doctor Doctor.

Here are a couple of shots of me with the band and the great man himself! Many thanks to Kath Goodwin for the great photos!

Face Down In The Dirt - Dave Burn Considering we had only played together once before, the set went extremely well. There were some very nice things said and everyone seemed to have a ball - no one more than myself! Last year I had the pleasure of playing a couple of numbers with these guys, and this year a full set of some of my fav UFO tracks. It's a week later and I'm still trying to take it all in! A huge thanks from me to Buzz, Tony, Mark, Andy and Paul, top drawer musos and genuinely lovely guys. It's a pleasure to know them. I also want to thank the other bands and guests from the event - the atmosphere was superb and you all did a fantastic job - not forgetting Sandra who runs the Vine Bar. I can honestly say that the hospitality was unsurpassed in my experience and I can't wait to go back there, and that's with or without the VIP experience that Sandra put together for us, treating like stars. Nice one Sandra! I said it last year but I'll say it again, if I do nothing musically ever again I'd still be a happy guy! There are some more photos from that wonderful day HERE.

Face Down In The Dirt - Dave Burn So, I have a new album, Face Down In The Dirt, out on April 30th. It's available for download here - and at £3 it's a bargain!

What next? Well, I'm currently still writing new material and hope to have it finished by the end of the year and I'm hoping to be doing some shows in the late summer. I'll post when I get more info. I'll leave you with a link to my Facebook page where you can see some video footage from the gig and some photos. Thanks for your continued support and Keep on Rockin!
Dave
